Windows 11 KB5055627 is now rolling out to everyone as an optional update on Windows 11 24H2, and it’s one of the biggest releases because it adds “Recall AI” on Copilot+ PCs, but there is some new stuff for regular PCs. Microsoft has also posted direct download links for KB5055627 .msu offline installers on Update Catalog.

This update is titled “2025-04 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5055627),” and it’s not supposed to download or install automatically.

As shown in the above screenshot, you’ll need to manually select “Download and install” under the update to install it. Windows 11 24H2 will advance to Windows 11 Build 26100.3915. If you’re not seeing the update via Windows Update or have run into installation issues, you can download the April 2025 Update from Update Catalog.

Today’s Windows Update has a lot of changes, but one of the most important fix is for an issue that causes Blue Screen of Death after installing Windows 11 24H2.

What’s new in Windows 11 Build 26100.3902?

1. Recall AI and Semantic Search

On Copilot+ PCs, you can now search using plain language. You do not need to remember exact file names or settings. For example, typing “change my theme” or “summer picnic photos” will find matching content across your device and OneDrive.

This is exclusive to Copilot+ PCs with 45+ TOPs.

2. File Explorer enhancements

File Explorer’s Home view highlights relevant Microsoft 365 files.

We also noticed that extracting zipped folders is faster in Windows 11 KB5055627 and text scaling works better across dialog boxes..

3. Phone Link access from Start menu

After the Windows 11 KB5055627 update, there’s a new Phone Panel.

This lets you call, text, and transfer files between your mobile device and PC directly from the Start menu without opening separate apps.

4. Narrator speech recap

Narrator can now display and copy the last spoken content. This helps users follow along with live transcription or review previous output.

Here is the full list of new features and fixes:

• Developers can build web-based widgets that work across multiple surfaces. In Europe, lock screen widgets can now be customized, starting with the weather card.
• Start menu touch gestures now work properly.
• Taskbar icons no longer stay underlined after closing apps.
• File Explorer address bar no longer shows blank paths.
• Hyper-V Manager displays accurate CPU usage for virtual machines.
• Windows Hello login problems after PC resets are fixed.
• Windows Update settings now estimate downtime required for installations.

Microsoft is not aware of any new issues in the update.
